An area around my nipples itch.. what may cause that to happen?

i have light colored nipples.. and months(2-3) after i migrated here to the US from phil.. i noticed the surrounding area itches and when i started scratching it, it now turned to a darkish brown.. not really covered up my areola but surrounded most on the left nipple and not really that much on the right..

i dont know why or what caused this to happened..

Amniotic band found during ultrasound?

hi,
i had my 16 week scan today and an amniotic band was found, have been told to go back for a 20 week scan, apparantly 70% of them dissapear allowing the baby to grow properly. has anyone ever had this and what happened to you.

I would have to say yes...I am 5'0" and weigh 94 lbs and I'm considered a little underweight. You should talk to your doc about how to gain some healthy weight...it could also be due to a medical condition like hyperthyroid so you should get it checked out.

The weight you have quoted is a bit light for a woman of 5'3" but you are only 14 and you may still be developing.

If you are dieting or watching your weight , then you shouldn't be. Allow yourself to eat plenty of healthy food. When you are fully physically mature your weight should be between 110 and 130 lb depending on your build provided you dont get any taller. If you grow taller you will need to allow yourself a higher weight.

You should weigh 90 or 100 for your age and weight. But it all depend on your body. You may not get boobs for awhile. You are pretty thin, and still young. Your breasts will grow, but you do need a certain amount of body fat for that to happen. Are you eating enough healthy foods? Protein, veggies, whole grains, etc. How about exercise? That is important for building muscle and helps you metabolize your food. If you are pretty healthy and your doctor is not concerned, then you need not be either.
Here is a basic rule of thumb to remember for life.

100 pounds for 5 foot.

5 pounds for every inch over five feet.

That says you should weight 110 pounds.

The mammary glands (the breasts) are a lot of fat, and you do not have any.

You need to eat a better diet to help gain to a healthy weight.
Being radically underweight can cause many illnesses so try to get your weight up to 100 pounds at least.

Goodness- Your BMI is 14.6 and Underweight is considered 18.5 and under. I too am very thin, but heck even I am at 17.2. I think it is time to see a doctor for whatever eating disorder you may have, or health problem. It is ok to be thin, but not this thin. You are extremely underweight and I would be very concerned for your health and well being. Please get the help you need to get some weight on your bones. It is also very unhealthy and hard on your internal organs.

The scale used to determine whether someone is over or under weight is called the Body Mass Index or BMI. Doctors usually like for women's BMI to be between 19 and 24. I used a BMI calculator to figure out yours and it came to 14.6. This shows you are under weight. If you are concerned see your doctor. If they feel there are any issues they can help you set a diet plan to help you gain some weight if necessary.
that is a bit skinny, but you will probably start to fill out as you develop more. keep up the exercising, it is good for you. if your terribly disturbed about it, perhaps you should try weight gainer powder from nutrition stores. they will add up to 1000 calories to your daily intake per shake (which is half of most peoples daily allowance). peanut butter is also good for putting on weight-high calories and protein in a small amount of food.

I'm still very skinny, but my body is now proportional. Being skinny is genetic for me, and it sounds like it is for you too.

The best thing to do is to remain healthy-Follow the food triangle! Drink at least 6 glasses of water a day, Eat plenty of starches, fruits, veggies, along with a little greasy foods or sweets.

Make sure you're etaing 3 good meals a day. if you get hungry and want a snack, eat something like some nuts, some peanut butter on a slice of bread, or maybe an apple with some peanut butter. Most importantly-Make sure you eat at LEAST 2,000 calories a day. Carbs are also important for energy, so make sure you get plenty of those.

That IS underweight and you should try to gain maybe ten punds or maybe a bit more then work out so you have some definition. It will look good then. Start off with walking, swimming, any activity that you like that keeps you busy.

If you really have a hard time...go to the doctor and ask them to give your permission to join Weight Watchers. It's a wonderful program

I know what you are feeling because I have been in the same situation. You should exercise 4 days a week for about 30- 60 minutes. Drink a lot of water and cut the junk food out of your meals. Try to ignore soda, candy, pizza, gum(sugar), etc. And if you feel that you need a snack, just chew sugar-free gum. I suggest doing some cardio...cause it really helps!Good Luck!!

do repeats uphill ( this exercise sucks when you're doing it but believe me it works wonders) do this 5 or 6 times and dont be scared tackle a big hill

run with you're dog, if you dont have one offer to run with your neighbor's dog you can get in shape together lol

cut your food intake down and cut back on junk food

and last but this is THE most important one... believe in yourself because you can lose the weight and even if it isnt fun it will work and have fun while doing it

You'll get through it. When I was 12, I was 142lbs. I knew that I had to lose weight if I wanted to try out for soccer again. I dropped 30lbs. By jogging, walking, and crunches.

Those are signs that it's coming... but there's just no guarantee of when. Cramps and bloating are typical premenstrual symptoms, so you'd be smart to carry a couple pads in your purse in case it starts unexpectedly when you're not at home. Don't worry, though... 13-going-on-14 is a completely normal age to get it and it's a perfectly normal part of a woman's life. I don't know anyone who loves getting her period, but we all manage to live with it!
Other than the other signs of puberty (armpit/pubic hair, breat development), there aren't really any signs that your period is going to show up soon. You pretty much just have to wait it out, and there isn't any REAL guarantee you'll get it before you're 14.

It happens to me. It doesn't mean one has inserted it wrong. Because I normally use pads. I only use tampons to go out for not to long a time. And still most of the time I feel the pressure of having it in me. And has soon as I get home I have to remove it. At times I have gotten sick, like I needed to puke. And as soon as I remove it I get better. Why this happens I'm not sure.
you really aren't supposed to, but if you do it's probably because 1) it isn't far enough up in the vaginal canal, or 2) the absorbancy is too high for your flow... which can also cause TSS. when you put it in, make sure the cardboard applicator is as far up as you can get it while still being in control of it, then push the tampon through. that may help for next time... but still if the absorbancy is too high, you will still feel it. the reason you'll feel it when the absorbancy is too high is because they are made wider all the way around, and sometimes longer than lower absorbancy tampons, and there isn't enough "lubrication" (blood), so it is pretty dry up there, and it will become really uncomfortable. so when you go to buy tampons (since everyday of your period will usually require a different absorbancy), it's best to buy the variety box. :)

No you're not supposed to feel it at all. Did you push it in deep enough...That's a common mistake with first time users. And make sure you're not using a medium tampon when flow is slight. this makes you dry and it makes inserting the next tampon difficult. Another cause for discomfort.

i'm 23 and have a 1yr old son.
i ovulated around june 27th and my period (or what i thought was a period) came about a week later.
however, instead of blood, it was a light brown discharge, that wasn't in my panties, just on the toilet paper.
after 3 days, i noticed a more reddish-blood color, though it was still light and i haven't experienced any cramping.
i checked the internet and everything i search under "brown discharge" sends me to a pregnancy website or implantation bleeding website. i've taken a home test and it was negative, though i wonder is it too soon to tell? my period usually comes the same time every month with a lot of cramping and a lot of bleeding. i had implantation bleeding with my son, but it was a few pink spots in my undies for a day and i didn't have anymore bleeding until his birth, but i'm sure all pregnancies are different.
anyone know what this is or have a personal experience with it and know answers?

If your pregnancy tests came out negative I think you're okay. Tests these days are pretty accurate. You can take them up to 5 days before your missed period so that fact that you've taken them after makes it pretty accurate. A late period can happen for many reasons. Have you been extra stressed lately, started exercising, or changed your diet? All of these are reasons for a late period.
i don't know if your pregnant but the test should be accurate in the morning before you have used the bathroom and about 3-5 days before your normal sheduled period it may be late because of stress as the same thing has happened to me. at any rate calm down and if it doesn't come soon check a test and if it comes back negative and your still worried get a doctors appointment.either way it would be your baby and im sure your a great mom.:)

You could be having PMS symptoms. Everyone is different sweetie. The time your PMS could linger could be different too. Mine lasts like 2 weeks, I swear! LOL Just hang in there...I'm sure you know not to stress about your period, it might make it come a little later.

Sorry to say but it is not baby fat because you are 15 and not a baby. Just exercise, drink lots of water, eat small meals throughout the day, and eat nutritional food. If that does not work go to Dr's and have some tests done, you might have a disorder.

I'm sorry but the ppl answering this are so judgemental sometimes. 147 pounds may be "obese" to some people but its not like you weigh 300 pounds or something. You arnt in desperate need of weight loss, but being the most healthy that you can be is good. If 147 pounds is obese then most people are screwed. Honestly not everyone can be weigh 100 pounds, most adults who weigh that little are just as unhealthy as those who weigh more then they should. Dont fall into that, just try to be what is normal for you body type, not someone elses.

8 1/2 stone is absolutely fine sweetie. You are a healthy weight for your age and height. You dont need to loose any thing at all. You are a teenager so you shape will change a lot over the next few years so all your friends at school will look different to you because you will all be at different stages. At your age you dont really want to go messing around with your weight as it can lead to alot of trouble...it did with me when I was 16 and Ive regretted it ever since.
At your height you'd still be fine at 9 1/2 or 10stone. Your friend who is 5ft 3 pretty much the same. Your friend at 5ft would be ok between 7 1/2 and 9 and your 5ft 6 friend at least 9stone. The best thing to do though is ask your doctor as they will know for sure. Hope that helps a bit and ignore some of the stupid comments you've had so far.

Am I overreacting?

I got my period on June 19th and it ended a couple days later. I am on the pill and use condoms.

This past week I am having mild back pain along with some pelvic pain. I was scared this meant pregnancy so I took two pregnancy tests that were negative...and I mean, I just got my period.

Is there any way I am pregnant?? I do have IBS but I've never had mild back/pelvic pain like this. I did take Imodium a couple times when I didn't need to and Pepto as well, and I have bowel movements every morning but it still seems as though I'm a little constipated.

What do you guys think?? I don't have any of other other "classic" symptoms of pregnancy...

One of the benifits of using the pill is they tend to shorten periods. They are used to treat heavy periods.
I've be willing to bet you are not pregnant and are just being blessed with shorter and less intense periods.
if the time-line you presented is correct, you're not pregnant. you can only get pregnant during ovulation, which is usually around day 14, counting your 1st day of your period as "day 1". you may, however, have a cyst which could be swollen and causing pain. or it could be from your ibs. good luck!

the same happened to my gf and after check the doctors said she got a bacterial infection inside so she took three days treatment and got well just two weeks ago.

Everyone at some stage in their lives has a billion insecurities... I also have a fat butt, I have cellulite, pimples, big hips and thighs, and a million other flaws... But ya know something? Everyone has flaws... And even though you may look at someone and think they're perfect, they have just as many insecurities as you.

When you look at the skinny girls in magazines, you have to remember that they can afford personal trainers and surgery and that they are also airbrushed, also remember the tiny population of the people of the world that they represent. In answer to your question, of course it's okay not to be skinny, and under no circumstances should you change who you are.
