All natural help for hot flashes?

Appreciate any suggestions for all natural remedies for hot flashes. Thanks-
Answer:
I started having hot flashes a month ago. My doctor and I are both against HRT. He suggested that I try Black Cohosh. It is a natural supplement you can get just about anywhere. I got mine at Walgreen's the Nature Made brand. What a relief!! Not only are my hot flashes much better but the mood swings have evened out as well. It has worked wonders for me and no side effects. Good luck!
Anything with soy. My family doctor recommended black cohash. I tried a lot of these products, but the only thing that has really helped me is a moderate level of HRT (estradiol). Some HRT is made of plant estrogens now. If you use the natural rememdies, look for a brand with a government certification. They generally are more careful about their ingredients and more consistent about keeping the strength constant. Good luck and be careful.
A solution may be to keep a glass of water and a bottle of motherwort beside you at night, and take 10-15 drops and a swallow of water if a night sweat awakens you. Exercise directly decreases hot flashes by decreasing the amount of circulating LH and FSH, by nourishing and tonifying the hypothalamus, and by raising endorphin levels (which plummet with hot flashing). As little as 20 minutes three times a week may reduce flashes significantly.

Dong quai is an emmenagogue that has been found very helpful for menopausal problems such as regulation of hot flashes, and it is reported to help relieve mental and emotional upset.

Chaste berry (Vitex) has been found to affect pituitary function and has many uses, particularly in regulating hot flashes and dizziness. Beneficial effects in menopause may be due to its role in altering LH and FSH secretion.

Motherwort has been found to lessen the severity, frequency and duration of hot flashes, ease stressed nerves, relieve anxiety, and relieve insomnia. For best results with hot flashes, use this herb frequently for 3 months. A common dosage for hot flashes is 15-25 drops of tincture, 1-6 times a day. Do not use if you are experiencing menstrual flooding as motherwort can aggravate this.

If you want to try licorice, remember it can also raise your blood pressure.
I have the answer for you, over the counter Extra Strength Estroven.
